The RITOMARU Minamiaso Mizu no Oyado” is a private-use villa, limited to one group per day, created by restoring a traditional Japanese residence that has stood since the Meiji era.
The name “Mizu no Oyado,” meaning “The Water Retreat,” originates from the abundant natural springs of Minamiaso,
symbolizing a stay that nourishes both body and soul like the pure spring waters nurtured by Mount Aso.
The second floor features a spacious open design with traditional wooden beams, offering breathtaking views of the Aso Five Peaks and a star-filled night sky through its wide panoramic windows.

The villa features a semi-open-air bath with a reclining bath ( lie down with water), a sauna, and a cold-water bath. Train: About 55 minutes from JR Kumamoto Station to JR Tateno Station.
Bus: From “Tateno Station,” take a Kyushu Sanko Bus to “Choyo Station Entrance” (approx. 12 minutes).
Then, transfer to the “Takamori Chuo” line and get off at “Kishino” (approx. 8 minutes).
From “Kishino” bus stop, it’s about a 4-minute walk (approx. 0.3 km) to the property.
